Our Post is named for Manassas native son Robert Vincent
McMaugh, a member of the Marine Security Guard (MSG) at the United States
Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. He was manning Post 1 when the embassy was
attacked on April 18, 1983. He lost his life along with 16 other
Americans and dozens of Lebanese citizens when terrorists slammed a van
loaded with 2,000 pounds of explosives into the embassy.
