SAL News - JANUARY 2010

SAL Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.
Home

This has been an exciting year for all the Legion family.  The Sons are very proud to have participated in all the activities that have taken place in 2009.  On 12 December we took Christmas presents to the veterans at senior assisted homes in Gainesville and Manassas.  The veterans were glad to know they were not forgotten.  I thank the following people who helped:  Gerry, both Toms, Gary, Roger, Lee, Bill and Debbie. If I missed anyone please forgive me.                                                                                  Throughout the past year there have been many members who have worked very hard to keep the Post successful, a big thank you.  To JR thank you for the support you gave to the Boy Scouts and our Riders.

We have one of the strongest Squadrons in the state and that is only possible because of the support from our members.  I also want to thank all for your support during my illness—much appreciated.                                                                                                                                                         This year will be just as challenging as 2009 so keep up the good work.  Our annual Chili Cook-Off will be the Sunday in February that the Daytona 500 is scheduled so all you chili makers get ready!  There will be 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes.  The fee is $5.00 to enter and $5.00 to taste.  Plan to attend and dust off your recipes.                                                                                                                                      Meetings: second Tuesday of the month at 1900 hrs.

We have a lot on the agenda and can always use volunteers - so jump right in.

Jimmy Bryant, Squadron 10 Commander
